VINELink is a custody-information and notification service. Ohio can be selected in its jurisdiction interface. Its records come from agencies that participate and send data. The research confirmed the Ohio route but did not establish that Muskingum County Jail currently supplies every booking or every type of alert. Check the live Ohio facility selector before assuming a local record will be present. If Muskingum County Jail appears, search that source for the county custody episode. If it does not appear, use the sheriff registry and request the sheriff's booking and release records.
ODRC information concerns state prison custody and Adult Parole Authority supervision. It does not replace a Muskingum County Jail release sheet. Federal Bureau of Prisons records are also outside Ohio VINELink. Immigration notification uses DHS-VINE, a separate service, and ICE has its own current detainee locator. A search must follow the custodian. Mixing these channels can turn a transfer into a false claim of freedom.
Search Muskingum VINELink Records
Begin with one specific person and one likely custody episode. The official VINELink service lets the user select Ohio and open the available offender or custody search. Exact spelling helps, but identifiers are stronger when the interface accepts them. Never choose a result only because the name looks right. Compare the agency, age or other lawful identifier, and record number shown on the candidate.
- Open VINELink and choose Ohio from the jurisdiction list.
- Select the person or offender custody search offered for Ohio.
- Enter the last name and first name. Add an available identifier if the screen permits it.
- Review every close match and confirm the reporting facility or agency.
- Open the matched record and copy the exact status, date, and identifier.
- If Muskingum County Jail is absent or no record matches, move to the sheriff or ODRC route that fits the custody episode.
A name can refer to more than one person, and one person can have more than one booking. The county registry supplies Subject Number and Booking Number fields that may help reconcile the episode. ODRC uses an offender number with an A, R, or W prefix. Those identifiers should not be treated as interchangeable.

Muskingum VINELink Release Fields
A VINELink record should be read as a report from the named source. Field names vary with the reporting agency and the current interface. When a result explicitly says released or out of custody, preserve that wording and any displayed date. Do not turn an unknown or absent result into a release statement. A released county detainee should be checked against the sheriff release sheet and the court order. For an ODRC person, use status plus Parole/Release Detail. A transfer may end one agency's custody while another agency begins holding the person.

Set Muskingum Release Notifications
Registration begins from the matched individual record, not from a general county list. Choose the registration or notification control shown there. VINELink may offer phone, text, email, or an app option, but only the channels on the current screen should be promised. Each channel needs its own contact information and confirmation. Alerts can report a future custody change supplied by the reporting agency.
- Confirm the name, identifier, and reporting agency on the person record.
- Select Register or the current notification control.
- Choose one of the offered phone, text, email, or app methods.
- Enter the requested destination and finish the on-screen confirmation.
- For a traditional automated telephone alert, select a four-digit PIN.
- When the automated call arrives, enter that PIN followed by the pound key when instructed.
The four-digit PIN is specific to traditional telephone calls unless the live Ohio interface says otherwise. Text and email may use a link, code, or another method shown on screen. Keep the registration details private. Update or cancel an alert through the same service controls when it is no longer needed.
Confirm Muskingum County Release
For a county arrest, open the Muskingum County Sheriff Inmate Registry. The In Custody box is checked by default. Search once with it checked to test current jail custody, then uncheck it and repeat for historical records. Booking From and Booking To narrow booking dates, not release dates. A historical match is a lead to the booking episode. It is not always the complete release record.

ODRC Release Status Versus VINE
